The jackpot has been hit three times this year, including on Feb. 6 when Becky Ball won the $754.6 million top awards with a lottery ticket purchased at Fred Meyer, a grocery store in Auburn, Washington. The cash option for that graphics was worth $407,204,980.43 before taxes.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A participant who purchased a $2 lottery passes has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five digits and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third awards of at least $50,000.
